Virtual Dedicated Server’s name is believed to be derived from the fact that virtualization or the practice of partitioning a single server in multiple ‘virtual’ or apparent servers was initially a commonly used in Main and Midi frame computing. The resurgence in virtualisation is due to the development of virtualization software.
